Cedar Rapids, IA - The Cedar Rapids Kernels have reinstated righthanded pitcher Jon Olsen from the 60-day Injured List. In a corresponding move, right-hander Pierce Banks has been transferred to the FCL Twins. With today's transactions, the Kernels active roster now stands at 29 players.
Olsen made his professional debut last season with the Kernels, going 1-4 with a 4.03 ERA across 16 appearances and 13 starts. The right-hander worked 67.0 innings, striking out 57 and walking 31 while holding hitters to a .217 batting average. Originally drafted by Minnesota in the 12th round of the 2018 Amateur Draft out of UCLA, Olsen made six rehab appearances for the FCL Twins this season and allowed just a lone earned run over 8.2 innings of work (1.04 ERA).
Banks started one game for Cedar Rapids, allowing three earned runs over 2.0 innings with a pair of strikeouts.
