LAST NIGHT: The TinCaps overcame an 8-0 deficit, but ultimately lost in 13 innings, 11-10. Robert Hassell III went 3-for-4 with 2 doubles, a game-tying 2-run homer in the eighth, 4 RBIs, and 3 walks.

LONG NIGHT: Thursday's game took 4 hours and 15 minutes. That was the longest game for the TinCaps since a 4 hour and 19-minute game at Great Lakes last Sept. 1 (11 innings). The last time a game went 4 hours and 15 minutes at Parkview Field was April 17, 2017 vs. West Michigan... Thursday was the first time the TinCaps played a game that took more than 12 innings since Minor League Baseball instituted a rule change in 2018 with extra-inning frames beginning with a runner at second base. The team's last 13-inning game was June 6, 2017, also against Lake County.

CLOSE BUT NO CIGAR: On June 18 at Lansing, the TinCaps trailed 4-0 with 2 outs in the top of the ninth inning. Fort Wayne, improbably, rallied to take a 5-4 lead in that game, only to see the Lugnuts walk off in the home ninth, 6-5... On June 24, the TinCaps trailed Great Lakes, 5-0, in the eighth inning. The 'Caps tied that game in the ninth, but lost, 10-6, in 10 innings.

FUTURES GAME: Center fielder Robert Hassell III has been selected to play for the National League in MLB's Futures Game, as part of All-Star Saturday on July 16 at Dodger Stadium. He's the 1st player in franchise history to earn an invitation to the showcase while representing Fort Wayne... Hassell leads the MWL in average (.310), while ranking 3rd in hits (79), 5th in RBIs (47), 7th in stolen bases (19) and OBP (.386), and 8th in OPS (.872).

MAX FERGUSON: Ranks 2nd in all of professional baseball in stolen bases (52) and 3rd in walks (67)... As far as walks go, Austin Gauthier with the Dodgers' Single-A affiliate, Rancho Cucamonga, has 69. Juan Soto of the Nats leads MLB with 69... Another Padres prospect, Esteury Ruiz, a 2018 TinCap, has 57 stolen bags between Double-A San Antonio and Triple-A El Paso. The current MLB leader is Miami's Jon Berti with 25.

COREY ROSIER: Leads the MWL in runs (56), while ranking 4th in triples (5), and 5th in stolen bases (24) and walks (47; 16%)... He's swung and missed at only 8% of pitches, the 4th lowest rate in the league... 16-game on-base streak dating back to June 14 ended Sunday.

CAUGHT 'EM: TinCaps catchers lead the league in throwing out runners trying to steal (29 CS). Individually, Brandon Valenzuela leads with 19, while Anthony Vilar has nabbed 8 of 20, and Adam Kerner has caught 2.

PATIENT: The TinCaps rank 2nd in the MWL in walks drawn (4.3 per game) and also have struck out the 2nd fewest times in the MWL (8.5 per game).

MISCELLANEOUS: The TinCaps are 25-12 when scoring first (67% win rate) and 4-36 when they don't (10%)... Fort Wayne is 6-10 in 1-run games, 5-10 in 2-run games, and 0-3 in extra-innings.

260 TO THE SHOW: Since Fort Wayne's franchise was established in 1993, there have been 206 alumni who've gone on to appear in the major leagues, including 49 this season... Pirates outfielder Jack Suwinski (2017-18) leads NL rookies in home runs (14), while MacKenzie Gore (2018, '21) ranks 3rd among all rookies in strikeouts (68)... MLB All-Star Game fan voting has 2014 TinCap Trea Turner of the Dodgers leading the way for NL shortstop and 2016 TinCap Ty France of the Mariners in 2nd for AL first baseman.
