
Jiminian Pitches Nuts to 3-1 Win

Bakersfield, CA. - Johendi Jiminian tossed seven shutout innings to help the Modesto Nuts to a 3-1 victory over the Bakersfield Blaze on Thursday night at Sam Lynn Ballpark.
Jiminian (W, 3-6) did not walk a batter and struck out five. The righty allowed only four hits for the Nuts (29-31) and stranded three, two-out baserunners in scoring position.
The Nuts got to Blaze (22-38) starter Dylan Unsworth (L, 0-2) in the first on a RBI groundout by Correlle Prime. Ryan McMahon cracked a solo home run in the fourth inning. Raimel Tapia added a RBI single in the fifth.
Unsworth went four innings striking out six and allowed one walk and two runs.
Troy Nieman (S, 2/2) allowed an infield RBI single in the ninth, but retired the final two he faced to polish off the Nuts' four-game, series-opening victory.
