Jets have busy summer

August 4, 2004 - North American Hockey League (NAHL)
Fargo-Moorhead Jets News Release

The FM JETS have a busy summer in-store. Scouting, the draft, and tryout camps will keep everyone going. Coaches Shawn Kurulak and Todd Knott are in the final stages of tendering players and talking to perspective players before the first tryout camp. The first camp will be in Blaine, MN on June 11th-13th and a week later the second camp, June 18th -20th,, in Moorhead, MN. Our final camp will be in early August and is an invite only as we take a final look at our JETS.

In addition to all of that, there are the many community activities our staff is involved with. The JETS gang will remain busy throughout the fast summer days. Before we know it our second team will gather to train for the new season. Perhaps by then our newest JET, "ACE", will have notched many goals and meet a lot of people. "ACE" is our newest JET, our eagle mascot.

The JETS are optimistic about the upcoming 2004-2005 season. Off of last season's team four JETS will beginning their D-1 action this fall. There are some big skates to fill in Fargo – Moorhead! . We are hopeful we can replace the players that have moved on.

There is one other thing that is exciting to watch on the border of North Dakota and Minnesota, the agricultural activity of the fertile Red River Valley. Before we we know it the fall harvest will begin and our JETS will be on the ice. It's not like watching grass grow, but an exciting exhibition of the bread belt of the country! What a great area!
