August 4, 2004 - North American Hockey League (NAHL)
St. Louis Bandits News Release

Kyle Lawson, a standout defenseman with the Michigan Honeybaked hockey organization for years and, most recently, of the Texarkana Bandits of the NAHL, has made the U.S. under-18 Junior World Cup Team.

The Junior World Cup will be played in Piestany, Slovakia on August 10-15.

Hockey powers Canada, Finland, Czech Republic, Russia, Sweden and Switzerland will join the United States and host Slovakia at this year's event.

Kyle made the Under-18 USA team while skating for Team Michigan at the Select 17 festival held in St. Cloud, Minnesota earlier this month. Bandits' Head Coach Jon Cooper was an assistant coach for the Michigan Team that had a tournament best 5-1 record.

Two other NAHL players, leftwinger Hunter Bishop of the Fairbanks Icedogs, and leftwinger Nathan Lawrence of the USA Hockey National Team Development Program, were also selected to the the Under-18 USA team.

Best of luck to Kyle and the rest of Team USA.
