Icedogs seek sponsors for team visits to area schools
August 4, 2004 - North American Hockey League (NAHL)
Bozeman Icedogs News Release
This coming season, the Icedogs will heighten their presence in the Gallatin Valley, beginning with a number of promotions and ticket specials. Games will have improved intermissions, a better selection of food and beverages, and be more affordable through our flex-pack offerings. And the players will continue to be involved in charity work throughout the area, including the very popular reading in school program.
This program is the keystone of our Icedogs For Kids program. The team does not want any child in the area to be denied the chance to come see the Icedogs play because of their financial situation. After a sponsor recently suggested the club partner with local businesses to extend Icedogs hockey to more children in the Gallatin Valley, the team developed a plan for reaching this goal, which can be achieved through the assistance of the local business community.
In mid-August, the Icedogs will be sending out an invitation to local schools to have Icedogs read in their classrooms. When they read at the schools, the players will distribute coupons good for one free adult and one free child ticket for the next home game in each classroom they visit, compliments of the Icedogs and a sponsoring business.
As with all groups attending games, these kids would be recognized -- along with the sponsoring business -- through a public address announcement during the game they attended.
This program offers excellent public relations for the sponsoring businesses, brings families to the games who might otherwise not be able to afford it, and puts more fans in the seats.
