Alpena IceDiggers News Release

The Team Toledo IceDiggers have narrowed their search for players for the 2004-05 season. The IceDiggers completed their tryout camp process this past weekend at the Toledo Ice House with their "Top 40" candidates.

Veterans returning for this year include forwards Eric Giosa, Steve Murphy, Paul Scalici, Jim Kozlowski, David Layne, Luke Delorenzo; defensemen Jeremy Barber, Mitch Sabo, Russ Peterson, Steve Leppo and goaltenders Justin Marriott and Jason Kearney. Forward Jared Katz has also joined the Diggers by way of an off-season trade with Youngstown.

Rookies include forwards Jake Hovick, Adam Thomas, Kaleigh Schrock, Brandon Moran, Ross Enmark, Ricardo Yesue, Nick Kulas, Pete Pfeffer, Kyle Jacobson, Jim Conlin, Nolan Craner, Kyle Brown; defensemen Bobby Phillips, Adam Snead, Scott Helvey, Jeff Miller and goaltender Derek Szesny.

Toledo will still need to make a few more roster moves in order to get down the 25-man roster requirement set by the NAHL prior to the start of the regular season. The Diggers home opener is set for September 18, 2004 versus USA's U17 National Team Development Program.
