
Jersey bats come alive in 13-2 blowout

Those wondering if, and when, the New Jersey Jackals bats would awaken during its home trip, the June 6 game against the Quebec Les Capitales provided the answer. You better believe it.
The Jackals scored a run in each of its first six innings for 11 runs as they thoroughly dismantled the Les Capitales 13-2 at Yogi Berra Stadium.
Bill Peavey spearheaded the charge during that span as he provided an RBI double in the first, a solo home run to right field in the third and a single in the fourth. Mike Nesbit hit ninth in the lineup and went 5-for-5 with three runs scored and an RBI.
The Jackals collected 21 hits and Tuttle (3-for-5), Wilton Veras (3-for-5, 3 RBI's) and Ricardo Cordova (3-for-5) each erupted and helped pummel the Les Capitales.
Aaron Myers pitched the third straight knockout performance for a Jackals starter. Myers went six innings and allowed no runs on just two hits.
During the Jackals three-game winning streak, Joe Orloski (seven innings), Adam Nikolic (nine innings) and Myers have combined to go a total of 21 innings with just two runs allowed on 12 hits
Chris Kemlo (0-2) picked up the loss for the Les Capitales. He pitched 3.1 innings and allowed seven earned runs. Jason Benson relieved him and surrendered six runs on nine hits.
In the first inning, Tuttle led of the with a four-pitch walk, and two batters later Bill Peavey knocked Tuttle home with a two-out double down the left-field line. The Jackals offense was just getting started, however, as they scored 12 runs in the next five innings.

In the top of the ninth, the Les Capitales spoiled the Jackals attempt at a shutout. Adam Nikolic entered in relief of Ryan Dixon and allowed two straight hits, a single by Goeffrey Tomlinson and a RBI double off the bat of Eddie Lantigua.
