Frisco RoughRiders News Release
The RoughRiders beat Midland, 6-4, on Sunday night thanks to the hot bat of designated hitter Andy Jenkins.
With the score tied 4-4, Jenkins laced a two out, two-RBI double into the right field corner to give Frisco a 6-4 lead that it would not relinquish. Jenkins finished the night 2-4 with five RBI. Mark Hamburger (1-0, 2.87) worked a scoreless ninth to secure the win.
Jenkins provided the first fireworks of the game in the bottom of the first inning with a three-run home run to stake Frisco to a 4-0 lead. Second baseman Ian Kinsler, making his second rehab start in a row, drove in the first run of the ballgame with an RBI single to right field against Midland starter Ryan Edell.
Dustin Nippert (0-0, 0.00) made his second rehab start on the mound, striking out four over 2.1 innings.
