Rome, GA - Rome Braves outfielder Jason Heyward has been sent to Myrtle Beach of the Carolina League. Heyward, a 2008 All-Star, had an outstanding season in Rome hitting .324 (second in the league) with eleven home runs and 52 RBI. His on base percentage was .388 which was tied for third in the South Atlantic League and he was tied for first in the league with 88 runs scored.
Rome receives outfielder CJ Lee from Myrtle Beach and he will join the club tonight in Columbus. Rome returns home on Thursday to begin the final home stand of the year.
