Jared Hoying Named Rangers Player of the Month

ROUND ROCK, Texas - The Texas Rangers announced Wednesday that Round Rock Express center fielder Jared Hoying has been named the organization's Minor League Player of the Month for June.
Hoying batted .347 (33-for-95) on the month with six doubles, three triples, six home runs, 21 RBI and 23 runs over 26 games. In June, he ranked among the Pacific Coast League leaders in triples (T-1st), slugging percentage (2nd, .663), OPS (3rd, 1.096), extra-base hits (T-3rd), RBI (T-4th), home runs (T-8th) and batting average (11th). Hoying hit safely in 17 of his last 18 games in June at .420 (29-for-69).
The 25-year old from Fort Loramie, Ohio earned PCL Player of the Week honors for the week ending June 15 after leading the Express to a season-high six-game winning streak. He batted .464 (13-for-28) with two triples, two homers, 10 RBI, 10 runs and three stolen bases.
On the season, Hoying has hit .258 (84-for-326) with 20 doubles, four triples, 15 home runs, and 50 RBI over 88 games and will represent Round Rock in the Triple-A All-Star Game Wednesday night in Durham, North Carolina.
Hoying was selected by Texas in the 10th round of the 2010 first-year player draft out of the University of Toledo. He first joined the Express in 2013 after beginning the season with Double-A Frisco.
