Jared Foster Hits for Cycle as Orem Dominates 12-4

OREM - With a 9-4 lead in the bottom of the 8th inning, the Orem Owlz brought center fielder, Jared Foster to the plate. He had already hit for a single, double and home run in his previous at bats. All that was left was the elusive triple, one that Foster hadn't hit all season. That was until his final at bat. He lifted a shot to deep left center field that landed at the warning track as Foster raced his way around the base-paths to complete the cycle. It was that kind of night for the Owlz bats all around.
They finished with 20 hits, coming away with the 12-4 win to even the series at one game apiece. Third baseman Kenny Towns was one of the other stars not just defensively, but also going 5-5, knocking home 4 RBI's.
As well as the bats were for Orem, the pitching was just as astounding. The bullpen went seven innings giving up a combined one earned run while scattering five hits. Zach Hartman picked up the win, improving to 2-0 on the season. At one point the bullpen retired 13 straight batters, lasting until the 9th inning.
Both Grand Junction and Orem are 2-2 now in the second half of the season, with the two teams heading on to the bus for Colorado to complete the series. After this series the Pioneer League will then take their All-Star break.
