Jamie MacQueen Named ECHL Player of the Week

West Valley City, Utah - Jamie MacQueen of the Utah Grizzlies is the Sher-Wood Hockey ECHL Player of the Week for Oct. 18-20.

MacQueen scored all five of Utah's goals in two games last week as the Grizzlies opened the season with a 1-1-0 record.

The 25-year-old scored four goals, including a power-play tally and the gamewinner, in a 4-2 win against Idaho on Friday before adding another power-play goal in a 4-1 loss at Las Vegas on Saturday.

MacQueen leads the ECHL with five goals and is tied for first with five points.

A native of London, Ontario, MacQueen has five points (3g-2a) in 32 career games with Lake Erie of the American Hockey League. Prior to turning pro, he recorded 47 points (24g-23a) in 147 games at Bemidji State University.

On behalf of Jamie MacQueen, a case of pucks will be donated to a Utah youth hockey organization by Sher-Wood Hockey, the exclusive puck supplier of the ECHL. Since beginning its sponsorship of the award in 2000-01, Sher-Wood Hockey has donated more than 29,000 pucks to youth hockey organizations in ECHL cities.

This Week

Wednesday against Las Vegas is a Wild $2 Wednesday with $2 Hot Dogs, $2 Fries, $2 Pepsi Products and $2 Draft Beers. Students with ID will be admitted for $5.

Friday, weekend hockey returns to Maverik Center against San Francisco at 7 p.m. The first 2,500 fans will receive Los Grizzlies posters featuring the team's 2013-2014 head shots.
