BAKERSFIELD, February 3, 2014 - The Bakersfield Jam announced Monday that Brian Butch has been traded to the Fort Wayne Mad Ants in exchange for the Mad Ants' original second round pick in the 2014 NBA D-League Draft and returning player rights to forward Anthony Richardson.
Richardson (6-7, 205, Florida State) played with Fort Wayne in the 2012-13 campaign and in 39 games (33 starts) he averaged 13.3 points, 4.7 rebounds and 1.6 steals in 28.1 minutes. He is currently playing in South Korea for the Busan KT Sonicboom and is averaging 17.7 points and 5.4 rebounds in 24.4 minutes (23 games).
Butch has played in 26 games (24 starts) for Bakersfield this season, averaging 11.8 points and 8.8 rebounds to go along with seven double-doubles. Butch is the Jam's all-time leader in rebounds (1373) and in blocks (113).
Bakersfield's next game is on Wednesday, February 5th against the Los Angeles D-Fenders. Tip-off is set at 7:00 p.m. PST in Los Angeles.
