
Manny Harris and Malcolm Thomas Named to 2014 NBA D-League All-Star Team

EL SEGUNDO - Manny Harris and Malcolm Thomas have been named to the 2014 NBA D-League All-Star team, it was announced today.
Harris, who is currently a member of the Los Angeles Lakers, averaged 30.6 points, 6.5 rebounds, 3.7 assists and 2.1 steals in 13 games with the D-Fenders this season. The Detroit native earned a Gatorade NBA D-League call-up to the Lakers on January 26th, signing a 10-day contract with the D-Fenders' parent club. Harris has since signed a second 10-day contract, and has posted averages of 6.8 points and 3.3 rebounds in eight appearances with the Lakers. At the time of his NBA call-up, Harris was leading the NBA D-League in scoring and had earned back-to-back Player of the Week honors. This marks the first NBA D-League All-Star selection for Harris.
Thomas, who is currently a member of the Utah Jazz, averaged 33.5 points, 15.5 rebounds, 2.5 steals and 2.0 blocks in two games with the D-Fenders this season. The San Diego State alumnus earned a Gatorade NBA D-League call-up to the San Antonio Spurs on December 3rd. Thomas was waived by the Spurs on January 23rd, but was claimed off of waivers by the Jazz on January 25th. At the time of his NBA call-up, Thomas was leading the league in scoring and rebounding. This also marks the first NBA D-League All-Star selection for Thomas.
Joining Harris and Thomas on the All-Star Futures team are Hilton Armstrong (Santa Cruz), Seth Curry (Santa Cruz), Dewayne Dedmon (Santa Cruz), Justin Hamilton (Sioux Falls), Pierre Jackson (Idaho), Kevin Jones (Canton), DeAndre Liggins (Sioux Falls), and Chris Wright (Maine). The All-Star Prospects team consists of Isaiah Canaan (Rio Grande Valley), Robert Covington (Rio Grande Valley), Troy Daniels (Rio Grande Valley), Ike Diogu (Bakersfield), Devin Ebanks (Texas), Melvin Ely (Texas), Ron Howard (Fort Wayne), Othyus Jeffers (Iowa), Christapher Johnson (Rio Grande Valley), and Jarvis Varnado (Iowa).
The eighth annual NBA D-League All-Star Game will be played on Saturday, February 15th, at Sprint Arena inside NBA All-Star Jam Session at New Orleans Ernest N. Morial Convention Center. The game will air live on NBA TV at 3 p.m. ET.
