BAKERSFIELD, California, December 8, 2011 - The Idaho Stampede (1-4) saw the return of three-time NBA All Star Antoine Walker and had an excellent game from Willie Jenkins (23 points, five rebounds, four assists), but the Bakersfield Jam defeated Idaho 100-87 on Thursday night.
Walker, signed earlier in the day, made his first basket with 5:55 left in the third quarter and finished the night with seven points and five rebounds in 27:18 of play. Jenkins got off to a blazing start, scoring 18 points in the first half, including 13 in the first quarter.
Idaho shot 29.2 percent in the third quarter, making just one-of-six three-pointers and only one free throw, while the Jam (4-1) outscored the road team 25-16 to capture an 11 point lead after three quarters.
Bakersfield had five scorers in double-figures, but with nobody tallying more than 18 points (Adrian Thomas, 4-9 3FG, four rebounds). The home team shot 42.3 percent from the field, but held a huge advantage at the free throw line over the Stampede, making 28-of-35 attempts, to Idaho's 12 makes out of 15 tries.
Reggie Larry finished the night with 12 points and four rebounds for the Stampede, while Mildon Ambres was the third Stampeder to finish in double-figures with 13 points and four rebounds.
Idaho next travels to Los Angeles to take on the Los Angeles D-Fenders on Saturday, December 10 at 9 p.m. (MST).
