December 8, 2011 - NBA G League (G League)
Reno Bighorns News Release

RENO, NEV.- Reno Bighorns players Blake Ahearn, Zach Graham and Doug Thomas have been invited to NBA training camps and will compete for spots on NBA rosters. Ahearn will be attending the Los Angeles Clippers camp, Graham will attend the Bighorns affiliate Atlanta Hawks camp and Thomas will attend the San Antonio Spurs camp. With the NBA Board of Governors ratifying the new NBA collective bargaining agreement, training camps are scheduled to begin Friday, December 9th.

Ahearn goes to the Clippers camp after playing five games for the Bighorns this season. He averaged 25 points and 7 assists during that stretch. Ahearn led the NBA D-League in points per game, was second minutes played and sixth in assists per game.

Graham also played five games with the Bighorns and returns to his hometown of Atlanta to fulfill his dream of becoming an NBA player. As a player who made the Bighorns roster via open tryout, the rookie impressed throughout the season, averaging 15.6 points and 4 rebounds in 33 minutes per game off the bench. He proved to be an effective scorer for the Bighorns, shooting 53 percent from the field, including 35 percent on three-pointers.

Thomas gets his chance with the Spurs after playing 99 games in three seasons with the Bighorns. He has averaged 8 points and 7.2 rebounds this season and will look to bring his high energy rebounding to the NBA.

The Reno Bighorns next game is Friday, December 9th against the affiliate of the defending NBA Champion Dallas Mavericks at the Reno Events Center.

The theme for Friday's game is Pack the Place Pink Night and fans are encouraged to wear pink in support of breast health awareness. Proceeds from tickets sold at the game will go to support the Rack Pack, a group of local women who raise money and awareness for breast cancer research. Halftime will feature the Breast in the West Dodgeball Tournament Championship, which was an event that also raised money to support breast cancer.

Season and group ticket packages are on sale today. Groups can experience one of the many Fan Experience Packages, including playing a game on the Bighorns court or performing a routine at halftime of a game. For more information call (775)853-8220 or visit RenoBighorns.com.
