
Jake Gautreau Activated off DL

The Buffalo Bisons today announced that infielder Jake Gautreau has been activated off the team's disabled list.
Gautreau, 26, was placed on the DL on May 11 (retroactive to May 9). In 26 games to start the 2006 season, the infielder hit .179 (17-95) with five doubles, five home runs and 12RBI. Prior to being disabled, Gautreau was tied for second on the Bisons' roster in home runs.
Gautreau spent the entire 2005 season with the Bisons and was an International League mid-season All-Star at second base. He hit .253 (108-427) with 30 doubles, 18 home runs and 57RBI in 113 games with the Herd. He finished second on the team in doubles, third in extra base hits (49) and fifth in home runs.
Gautreau was acquired by the Cleveland Indians on February 2, 2005 in a trade with the San Diego Padres for fellow 1st round draft pick, infielder Corey Smith.
