Macon Mayhem News Release
MACON, GA- Macon Mayhem defenseman Jake Faiella scored his first career professional goal and recorded his first professional assist, as the Mayhem downed the Fayetteville Marksmen 4-1 on Saturday night.
HOW IT HAPPENED
For the second straight night, the Mayhem jumped out to the first period lead over the Marksmen. John Siemer tipped a one-timer from Seth Ronsberg to collect his 18th goal of the season. Macon also scored the lone goal of the second period, as Vinny Muto scored on a point shot, assisted by defenseman Larry Smith.
Macon added a pair of goals in the third period to stretch their lead to four goals. Jake Faiella walked out from the corner and fired the puck past goaltender Ben Halford. Dakota Klecha followed that up on a three-on-two, assisted by Daniel Gentzler and Faiella, to take a 4-0 lead. Fayetteville's Tyler Palmer ruined Peter Di Salvo's shutout bid with just three seconds left in the game, as he made it a 4-1 game.

COACH KERR'S COMMENTS
"We did a great job of getting out to an early lead and staying on them throughout the game. It's too bad we came up three seconds short for Peter [Di Salvo], but we played well throughout. I think we're playing some of our best hockey of the season right now."
