Rancho Cucamonga, CA - Rancho Cucamonga won for the sixth straight time, improving to 5-0 in the second half with a 15-11 victory over the High Desert Mavericks on Monday night.

The Quakes scored nine runs in the second to break the game wide-open, this after they scored ten runs in the second inning this past Saturday night in a win at home over Inland Empire.

James Baldwin, Steven Proscia and Chris Jacobs each hit home runs, with Jacobs' long-ball representing a significant milestone in Quakes' history. Jacobs' 14th homer of the year gives him 45 career home runs, surpassing Ben Johnson (2005-2007) as the all-time career leader in home runs.

Kyle Farmer's RBI single gave the Quakes an early 1-0 lead in the first. Farmer's his was the second of 19 on the night for Rancho, as they fell one short of their season-high mark of 20.

Everything blew up on High Desert starter Min-Sih Chen (2-5) in the second, as he was removed after giving up seven runs in the inning. Baldwin greeted Mavs' reliever Will Mathis with a two-run bomb to right, his sixth of the year for a 10-0 advantage.

Steven Proscia knocked in Corey Seager in the third, extending Rancho's lead to 11-0.

Quakes' starter Fabio Martinez cruised through the first two innings before getting roughed up and eventually removed in the third, as High Desert retaliated for six runs, making it 11-6. With just one out, Geoff Brown replaced Martinez and quickly coaxed an inning-ending double-play from Jabari Henry.

The offenses would shut down until the seventh, then Rancho got a three-run blast from Prosica, his 10th, followed by Jacobs' historic home run, making it 15-6.

Brown (2-4) would be replaced after 3 2/3 innings of scoreless relief by Daniel Tillman, whom the Mavs would get to for three runs, closing the gap at 15-9.

Rancho reliever Yasmanys Fernandez was touched for two more in the eighth, as High Desert made it a four-run game at 15-11.

That's as close as they'd come though, as Rob Rogers worked around a one-out walk to fire a scoreless ninth, preserving the Quakes' sixth straight win.

Rancho (5-0, 37-38) will go with Jharel Cotton (2-4) on Tuesday night in the middle game of the three-game set, while High Desert will send Scott DeCecco (2-7) to the bump, with game time slated for 7:05 p.m..

The Quakes will return to LoanMart Field next Tuesday, July 1st, for a Healthy RC Recycle Tuesday. Tickets are available by calling (909) 481-5000. We hope to see you very soon at LoanMart Field.
