
Seager and Urias to Play in Futures Game

Rancho Cucamonga, CA -- The rosters for the 2014 SiriusXM All-Stars Futures Game were announced on Tuesday, with infielder Corey Seager and left-handed pitcher Julio Urias getting the nod to represent the Quakes in Minneapolis. The game will be played on Sunday, July 13 as part of All-Star Weekend in Minnesota.
Seager was one of Rancho's two All-Stars in the California-Carolina League Mid-Summer Classic in Wilmingon, Delaware. His .353 average ranks second in the California League and he leads the circuit with 27 doubles. In the FIrst Half, Seager hit .344 with 12 home runs, 24 doubles and 49 runs batted in.
Julio Urias has only thrown 45.2 innings in 2014, but the 17-year-old from Mexico has shown flashes of dominance this season. In 14 outings, Urias has 48 strikeouts and just 21 walks. Opponents are batting just .223 with two home runs against the southpaw. He has allowed only eight runs in his last 32 innings of work.
Urias is the fourth 17-year-old ever to be selected for the Futures Game. He and Seager join Pedro Baez, Chris Reed and Joc Pederson as players in the Dodger organization to play for the Quakes and make the Futures Game.
Seager is representing the American team, while Urias will play for the World team in Minneapolis. You can find the full rosters here .
