Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp News Release

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - John Silviano homered and all nine Jumbo Shrimp batters notched at least one hit Friday to lead Jacksonville to a 6-3 victory over the Mobile BayBears in front of 6,646 fans from the Baseball Grounds of Jacksonville. The crowd enjoyed the World's Largest Outdoor Cocktail (Sauce) Party, Friday Night Lites spiced up by Tijuana Flats presented by Miller Lite and Coors Lite and NAPA Family Fireworks.

Mobile (21-32) led 1-0 when J.C. Millan reached on an error to start the bottom of the fourth. A Santiago Chavez single coupled with another BayBears miscue put runners on second and third for Corey Bird, who laced a two-run triple to give Jacksonville (21-33) the lead. Bird later scored on a wild pitch from Mobile starter Jason Alexander (1-2) to make the score 3-1.

The BayBears answered promptly in the top of the fourth when Brendon Sanger hit a solo home run in the fourth.

In the bottom of the fourth, though, Stone Garrett singled with one out. After a strikeout, Bryson Brigman ripped an RBI double to widen the margin to 4-2.

Mobile was able to cut their deficit to one in the sixth. Jhoan Urena tripled before scoring on a Brandon Sandoval RBI ground out to slice the score to 4-3. However, in the bottom of the sixth, Silviano crushed a solo home run to make it a two-run contest again.

With the tally at 5-3 in the seventh, Anfernee Seymour singled with one out. After he stole second, Justin Twine laced an RBI single to make it 6-3.

Sixto Sanchez (1-1) earned his first career Double-A win with three runs against on seven hits in 5.2 innings. He struck out four against one walk. McKenzie Mills pitched 1.1 scoreless innings of relief before Jeff Kinley tossed a scoreless eighth. Brett Graves fired a shutout ninth for his second save.

A Sanger RBI single in the first inning initially gave Mobile a 1-0 advantage.

Friday's winning raffle number of 1943320047 won a prize of $390.
