Jackson's 29 Points Not Enough to Take Down Kings

SALT LAKE CITY - The Salt Lake City Stars fell to the No. 1 ranked Western Conference Stockton Kings, 138-125, tonight at the Maverik Center.

Salt Lake City guard Frank Jackson led the Stars for the fourth consecutive game, notching 29 points. Christian Vital came off the bench to contribute 19 points, six rebounds, and three assists. While three other reserves scored in double-digits: CJ Elleby (14 points), Stacy Davis (11 points), and Eli Cain (11 points). Utah Jazz two-way Micah Potter led the team in rebounding with nine and tallied 16 points.

The first half was a high scoring contest led by Stockton. The Stars came back ready to battle after the break. Elleby got hot as he netted 11 points in the third and served six assists. In the final frame Salt Lake City outscored Stockton 33-27, however were unable to close the gap despite a highly contested fourth quarter. The Western Conference leaders claimed a 138-125 victory on the road.

Neemias Queta led Stockton with a game-high 31 points and 12 rebounds, while five other Kings players scored in double-digits: Keon Ellis (20 points, 8 rebounds), Deonte Burton (18 points), Jordan Ford (14 points and nine assists), Alex O'Connell (11 points), and Chance Comanche (19 points).

The Stars will return to the road on Wednesday, Mar. 15 when the team faces the Santa Cruz Warriors at Kaiser Permanente arena. The game will tip-off at 8 p.m. MT and be broadcast on ESPN+

Later this week the Stars will return home for their last three games of the regular season, kicking off with a match-up against the South Bay Lakers, at the Maverik Center on Sunday, March 19. Doors open at 2 p.m. and tipoff is at 3 p.m.
