Jackals Announce Transactions.

Elmira Jackals News Release


The Elmira Jackals announced on Thursday that they have received forward Corey Cowick on reassignment by their NHL affiliate, the Ottawa Senators, from their AHL affiliate, the Binghamton Senators. Additionally, forward Josh Brittain has been reassigned from the Jackals by their NHL affiliate, the Anaheim Ducks, to their AHL affiliate, the Syracuse Crunch.

Cowick, a second-year pro, has four goals and five assists for nine points in 44 games this season with the B-Sens. The Gloucester, Ontario skated in 31 games in his rookie season of 2010-2011, collecting five goals and nine assists for 14 points. Cowick also scored a goal and added three assists for Binghamton last season in 30 contests. The 22-year old was drafted in the sixth round of the 2009 NHL Entry Draft by Ottawa. This is Cowick's first assignment to Elmira this season.

Brittain has five goals in nine games with the Jackals this season. A second-year pro from Milton, Ontario, Brittain has one assist in 14 games with the Crunch in 2011-2012. Brittain was selected in the third round of the 2008 NHL Entry Draft by Anaheim. This is his third reassignment from Elmira to Syracuse this season.
