February 2, 2012 - ECHL (ECHL)
Reading Royals News Release
Reading, PA - The Reading Royals of the ECHL, Blind Hartman's Tavern and Rock Hits Y102 today jointly announced that they will join forces to host a 'Pink in the Rink Happy Hour' on Thursday, February 9, 2012 from 5 - 9 pm at Blind Hartman's Tavern, www.blindhartmanstavern.com, 2910 Pricetown Road, Temple, Pennsylvania, 610-370-7180.
The 'PIR Happy Hour' will feature food and drink specials with a portion of the proceeds from the sale of which going to support Breast Cancer Support Services of Berks County. From 6 - 8 pm that night, Rock Hits Y102 will broadcast live from the PIR Happy Hour, which will serve as the kick-off for the festivities of the Royals' Fifth Annual Pink in the Rink hockey game on Saturday, February 18, 2012 (7:05pm), at the Sovereign Center when the Royals face the Wheeling Nailers.
The PIR Happy Hour is expected to be loaded with fun and festivities, which will include appearances by Royals' players and Slapshot, who we're confident will be resplendent in the color of a real man (or whatever gender Slapshot might lay claim to....): PINK! Fans and friends are also encouraged to get in the mood by donning their favorite pink Royals' jerseys from PIR games gone by-or for that matter, any type of pink will do. There will also be an auction at the PIR Happy Hour to help raise additional funds for BCSS of Berks County and the ongoing effort to cure breast cancer.
The Royals play the second of three in a row against the Florida Everblades tomorrow (Friday, February 3, 2012 @ 7:30 pm) at Germain Arena in Estero, Florida. The game night broadcast on Friday will start at 7:00 pm with the Red Robin Gourmet Burger Pre-Game Warm-up Show on ESPN Radio 1240 am in Reading. Streaming audio is available free of charge courtesy of America One through the Royals' website, www.royalshockey.com. As with all Royals' road games this season, Friday's game will be televised locally in Berks County Pennsylvania on BCTV courtesy of Boscov's Travel and the Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines.
