Columbus Crew SC News Release

COLUMBUS, Ohio - If the playoff series between Columbus and defending MLS Cup Champion San Jose is anything like the four-game regular season series, there are bound to be fireworks! The Crew and San Jose split their four game series, with each team winning its two games at home. Columbus defeated the Earthquakes 2-0 and 2-1 at Columbus Crew Stadium, and lost 3-2 and 4-3 in overtime at Spartan Stadium.

Game One is in San Jose at Spartan Stadium on Wednesday, Sept. 25 at 10 p.m. (ET), with Game Two in Columbus at Crew Stadium on Saturday, Sept. 28 at 7:30 p.m. If necessary, Game Three will be back in San Jose on Wednesday, Oct. 2 at 10 p.m. (ET).

Wednesday's match will be televised live locally on SPORT! TV (Insight Communications Ch. 78, Time Warner Cable Ch. 24), with Dwight Burgess and Bill McDermott calling all the action. It can also be heard live in English on 103.9, The New Eagle, around the state on the Crew Radio Network and across the globe on TheCrew.com, with Jim Henderson behind the radio microphone.

Tickets are available at all TicketMaster locations, the Crew Stadium Ticket Office, by calling 614-431-3600, or at TheCrew.Com. The first playoff game is designated as "Special Game D" for Crew season ticket holders.

The Quarterfinals and Semifinals of the MLS playoffs are a first-to-five points series, with a team getting three points for a win and one for a tie. If the two teams are tied in points at the end of Game Three, a 20-minute sudden-death mini-game will be played immediately following Game Three and, if still tied, will head to penalty kicks to decide the winner.

MLS Cup is slated for Sunday, Oct. 20 at 1:30 p.m. at Gillete Stadium in Foxboro, Mass. The game will be televised live on ABC Sports.
