It wasn't pretty for the Macon Mayhem Thursday night as they lost 7-1 to the Peoria Rivermen at the Macon Coliseum.

The victory extends Peoria's league record road winning streak to 12. The loss is the largest margin of defeat the Mayhem have suffered and the two teams combined for a Mayhem record 96 penalty minutes, 72 coming in a raucous third period.

By midway through the third, Peoria had built its lead to 6-0 on goals by Matt Summers, Chris Wilson, Ben Power, Steve Morra, Adam Stuart, and Brandon Greenside. Mike Montrose finally dented the scoresheet for the Mayhem on a power play goal with just under 10 minutes to play. Wilson scored his second goal of the night (to go along with two assists) to round out the scoring.

The Mayhem host the Mississippi RiverKings Friday at 7:30 p.m. in night two of the salute to the military. Robins Air force base commander Colonel Jeff King is slated to drop the puck in opening ceremonies.

Concession specials for Fridays game will be a slice of Marco's Pizza and a fountain drink for $5.
