Isotopes set average attendance record

The Albuquerque Isotopes have set a record for highest average attendance in a season, as the club drew 8,304 fans per game in 2006, shattering the previous mark of 8,223 achieved in 2004.

Despite enduring one of the wettest monsoon seasons in recorded history, the ‘Topes drew a total of 581,308 fans in 70 openings in 2006, just 1,531 fans short of the franchise record of 582,839 set in 71 openings last year.

Throughout the season, Albuquerque had crowds of 12,000 or more on seven different occasions, including a whopping 15,020 on July 3, the largest crowd ever to see an Isotopes game. The ‘Topes also finished the season extremely strong, drawing 13,345 last night, the second largest crowd this season.

On June 16th, the Isotopes welcomed their 2-millionth fan, an amazing feat achieved in just under three and a half years.

Over the ‘Topes' four-year existence, the club has drawn a total of 2,316,621 fans and have averaged 8,215 fans per game over the team's history.
