Albuquerque Isotopes News Release

With temperatures plummeting into the low 30s and a threat of snow this evening, the Albuquerque Isotopes and Iowa Cubs' regularly-scheduled game Wednesday has been postponed. The contest will be made up as part of a doubleheader on a date to be determined in June during Albuquerque's next visit to Iowa.

The weather is scheduled to improve tomorrow, but could be dicey again Thursday, prompting the decision to make-up the game during the Isotopes' June 26 to June 29 sojourn to Des Moines instead of during the current series.

Today's scheduled starter Doug Waechter will get one extra day of rest before taking the hill against I-Cubs right-hander Mike Burns (0-1, 6.00 ERA) tomorrow in a 5:35 PM tilt Mountain Time.

After an eight-game tour of the Midwest, the Isotopes return home on April 11 to face the Oklahoma RedHawks, Triple-A affiliate of the Texas Rangers. In addition to the usual Opening Night pomp and circumstance, the 'Topes will be giving away Isotopes Hats to the first 3,000 fans courtesy of Sandia Resort and Casino. Tickets can be purchased at Isotopes Park or any Ticketmaster outlet, www.ticketmaster.com, or Ticketmaster by phone 505-883-7800. For more information on individual game tickets, season tickets, or mini-plans, visit www.albuquerquebaseball.com or call 505-924-2255.
