Albuquerque Isotopes News Release
Right-handed pitcher Matt Magill was activated from the disabled list today, July 10, after being placed onto the DL retroactive to June 20. The Southern California native will start tonight for the Isotopes. Righty Gregory Infante was released yesterday, July 9.
Magill is 2-0 with a 2.81 ERA (10 ER/32.0 IP) in six starts with Albuquerque. He opened the season with the Isotopes reaching Triple-A for the first time in his career. He was selected by the Dodgers in the 31st round of the 2008 First-Year Player Draft and is in his sixth season of professional baseball. He made his Major League debut this season for Los Angeles on April 27.
Infante was released yesterday after signing with the Los Angeles Dodgers on November 16, 2012 and was a non-roster invitee to Spring Training this season. He pitched in one game for Albuquerque this year on July 7 against the Iowa Cubs. He allowed three runs on two hits over two innings of work. He also walked three and struck out two.
Albuquerque closes out their final homestand before the All-Star break with a 7:05 PM MDT game against the Nashville Sounds tonight. Zach Kroenke (4-11, 4.41) will start for the Sounds against Magill (2-0, 2.81). All the action can be heard on 610 "The Sports Animal" with Josh Suchon on the call.
