Charlottetown Islanders News Release

The Charlottetown Islanders will make the venture across the Confederation Bridge once again as they do battle with the defending Memorial Cup Champion Acadie-Bathurst Titan tonight at the K.C. Irving Regional Centre.

These two teams last met on October 12th in Bathurst, where the Islanders defeated the Titan 4-1. Tonight's matchup will be a tale of two teams heading in opposite directions; that win kicked off a 4-game win streak for the Islanders, scoring 21 goals in the process. Bathurst, on the other hand, are mired in a 6-game winless streak, and have been outscored a combined 33-5 in those games.

Daniel Hardie leads the way for Charlottetown with seven goals and twelve points in thirteen games this season. He's coming off of a weekend that saw him rack up six points in two games, earning him a spot on this week's QMJHL Team of the Week. He's followed closely behind by linemate Keith Getson and Derek Gentile, who each have eleven points on the season.

The Titan are led by young forward Logan Chisholm. The 17 year-old Antigonish, Nova Scotia native has a goal and nine assists through eleven games so far. Summerside, PEI native Noah Dobson isn't far behind, with seven points through ten games since his return from New York Islanders training camp.

The Titan will receive a boost up front as Ethan Crossman makes his regular season debut. The 19 year-old winger had been recovering from hip surgery over the summer, the same surgery that Titan goaltender Mark Grametbauer also had during the offseason. Crossman's return gives the Titan a much-needed offensive weapon; he scored 21 goals and 44 points in 66 games last season.
