Islanders Assign 12 to Sound Tigers, Release Five

UNIONDALE, NY (October 3, 2010) - The New York Islanders have made the second round of their roster moves for their 2010 Training Camp, assigning a total of 12 players to the Sound Tigers, and releasing five players from their Professional Tryout Contracts (PTO).

Forwards Justin DiBenedetto, Micheal Haley, Rob Hisey, Jesse Joensuu, Tomas Marcinko, Rhett Rakhshani, David Ullstrom, and Jeremy Yablonski, along with defensemen Dylan Reese, Travis Hamonic, Mark Katic and goaltender Mikko Koskinen have all been assigned to the Sound Tigers.

Dean McAmmond, Jed Ortmeyer, Anders Eriksson, Manny Legace and Krys Kolanos, who all accepted invitations on PTO contracts for Islanders Training Camp, were all released from their agreements.

The Sound Tigers open up their 10th Anniversary Season on Saturday, Oct. 9 at 7 p.m. when the play host to the Worcester Sharks.
