Panthers Assign Markstrom to Rochester, Three Placed on Waivers

Rochester, NY - Florida Panthers General Manager Dale Tallon announced today that G Jacob Markstrom has been assigned to the Rochester Americans (AHL). In addition, D Joe Callahan, RW Michael Grabner and LW Andrew Peters have been placed on waivers, and if cleared, will also join the Amerks.

In a related move, the Amerks also announced today that forwards David Rutherford, Igor Gongalsky, Matt Butcher, Max Lacroix, Ryan Del Monte, Tommy Goebel and defenseman Brian O'Hanley have all been released from their AHL tryouts.

Rochester will open its 55th season in the AHL against the Toronto Marlies at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 9th at Ricoh Coliseum. Rochester will make its home debut on Sunday, October 10th when the Amerks host the back-to-back Calder Cup champion Hershey Bears at 5:05 p.m. as part of the American Hockey League's 75th Anniversary celebration.
