IronPigs Nip the PawSox, 2-1
August 2, 2012 - International League (IL1)
Pawtucket Red Sox News Release
A solo home run off the bat of Andy LaRoche was all the offense the PawSox could muster on Thursday night in Allentown, falling to the IronPigs 2-1. Lefty Chris Hernandez (1-1) shouldered the loss despite pitching very well.
Hernandez went five and two thirds innings. His departure was expedited when a line drive off the bat of Hector Luna struck his leg. The former Pawtucket standout scored along with veteran Pete Orr on the first Triple A base hit by the highly regarded prospect, Sebastian Valle.
Tyler Cloyd improved to 11-1 with seven solid innings of work. The series shifts to McCoy Stadium for a 7:05 start on Friday night.
