DES MOINES, Iowa - A balanced scoring attack and a hot second quarter helped the Iowa Wolves race past the Texas Legends, 111-85, Sunday afternoon in NBA G League action at Wells Fargo Arena.
Iowa (5-1) was paced by Isaiah Miller's career-high 30 points behind an impressive shooting performance of 14-of-16 from the floor. In his second game since being assigned by the Minnesota Timberwolves, Leandro Bolmaro stuffed the stat sheet with 19 points, six assists and five rebounds while Vincent Edwards recorded another double-double with 16 points and 11 rebounds.
Miller's big game was part of a great performance by the Wolves' bench as the reserves scored 60 points. Malik Benlevi had 10 points while Canyon Barry and Brandon Sampson each chipped in nine points.
The first quarter was back-and-forth with Iowa leading by just two points going into the second period. Iowa broke the game open with a 35-15 scoring advantage in the second as it would lead by as many as 29 points after halftime.
Texas (4-3) was led in scoring by Justin Jackson with 23 points. However, Iowa's defense held him to just 8-of-23 from the field, including 5-of-17 from three. As a team, Texas made just 7-of-37 from beyond the arc.
As a team, Iowa shot a blistering 52.3 percent (45-of-86) from the floor and dominated the glass with a 59-41 rebounding advantage.
The two teams will square off again Tuesday night with tipoff at Wells Fargo Arena scheduled for 7 p.m. CT. The rematch will be streamed on ESPN+.
