
High Octane Offensive Contest Favors Celtics over Knicks

PORTLAND, ME - The Westchester Knicks, the official NBA G League affiliate of the New York Knicks, saw the Maine Celtics avenge its tilted setback earlier this week, 142-117, Saturday night at Portland Expo Building.
After the Knicks (2-5) routed the Celtics (4-3) by 27 points, 126-99, last Wednesday, Maine retaliated shattering two franchise records of its own on assisted makes (40) and triples (26).
Brandon Williams (tryout) was the highest scorer for the Knicks setting a new career-high, 35 points on 55-percent. The guard drained six three-pointers on 54.5-percent and dished eight helpers-both career superlatives. Dewan Hernandez (Returning Rights) scored 23 points, his fourth game eclipsing the 20-point mark, and grabbed a team-high six rebounds.
For the opponent, Chris Clemons registered 38 points which included 10 made treys. Sam Hauser added 26 points and Luke Kornet recorded 20 points and handed out 10 assists.
Despite the gapped final, Westchester did manage to cut into its deficit by as many as 11 in the fourth quarter. The Knicks also shot 54.4-percent (43-79) which is not only a regular season-high but also bests any clip from this season's Showcase Cup. Moreover, the 18.5 three-pointers they now average through its last two is a superlative for any two-game span this season, also including the Showcase Cup.
Westchester battles two more opponents as a part of its three-game road trip with Raptors 905 in two days, January 24 at 7:30 PM ET.
