
Iowa tops Albuquerque, 7-5

Jason Dubois launched a walk-off home run Friday night as the Iowa Cubs defeated the Albuquerque Isotopes 7-5 in front of 8,959 fans at Principal Park. Iowa trailed most of the game until the five-run ninth inning, highlighted by Dubois' three-run home run to right field.
The Isotopes held a 4-2 lead before the one hour and one minute weather delay in the bottom of the sixth inning. Xavier Paul homered in the first inning to put Albuquerque ahead, 1-0.
In the second inning, Jake Fox tied the game at one when he hit a solo homer. Fox was 3-for-4 Friday. However, the 'Topes held a 3-1 lead in the fourth after Dee Brown doubled and was driven in on Mitch Jones' homer.
Iowa posted another run to cut Albuquerque's lead 3-2 in the bottom of the fourth inning when Chris Robinson hit a run-scoring single to drive in Bobby Scales, who tripled a batter earlier.
The Isotopes made it a 4-2 game before the weather delay, when Chin- lung Hu doubled and later scored on Valentino Pascucci's single.
It was the I-Cubs who prevailed with a late rally that began with a Jake Fox single. Pinch hitter Matt Matulia then walked and scored when Chris Robinson reached on an Albuquerque error. Andres Blanco's RBI single drove in Scales, before Dubois' heroics. Scales posted two hits and a pair of runs in the victory.
Chad Fox picked up his first in of the season for Iowa while Albuquerque's Dwayne Pollok was tagged with the loss. Iowa travels to Nashville and Memphis before returning home on May 4.
