River Cats Announce Interactive "High School Heroes" Promotion

WEST SACRAMENTO, Calif. - The Sacramento River Cats and Esurance have announced a first-of-its-kind promotion this season at Raley Field where fans and online voters have the ability to decide who the Sacramento area's favorite homegrown athlete is. Here's how it works:
1. "High School Heroes" will start with an online vote, beginning on Wednesday, April 29th at Rivercats.com/HighSchoolHeroes, where fans can vote between ten (10) of the area's most prominent, recognizable sports stars from local high schools (voting runs through Wednesday, May 20th and fans can vote as many times as they like)!
2. The top three (3) vote-getters in the online vote will have bobbleheads made in their likeness - donning their high school uniform! The three (3) finalists will be announced on Thursday, June 4th.
3. On Saturday, August 22nd at Raley Field, fans will get to choose which of the three (3) finalists' bobbleheads they want to receive that night. Whoever's bobblehead runs out first will be named the favorite son/daughter of local high school sports fans and the "2009 High School Hero!"

- Dusty Baker (Baseball) - Del Campo High School
- Lance Briggs (Football) - Elk Grove High School
- Teddy Bruschi (Football) - Roseville High School
- Natalie Gulbis (Golf) - Granite Bay High School
- J.P. Howell (Baseball) - Jesuit High School
- Kevin Johnson (Basketball) - Sacramento High School
- Derrek Lee (Baseball) - El Camino High School
- Dustin Pedroia (Baseball) - Woodland High School
- Summer Sanders (Swimming) - Oakmont High School
- Greg Vaughn (Baseball) - Kennedy High School
Individual tickets for this game and all games this season at Raley Field are currently available at the Raley Field Ticket Office or online at Rivercats.com.
