
Iowa Energy Fall to the Reno Bighorns

Des Moines, Iowa - The Iowa Energy (7-7) fell 127-111 to the Reno Bighorns (8-7) Wednesday night at Wells Fargo Arena.
The Energy were led by Memphis Grizzlies assignees James Ennis and Russ Smith with 23 points each. Alex Stepheson added a double-double 18 points and 16 rebounds. Vince Hunter led the Bighorns with a game-high 36 points and 11 rebounds.
It was a close start to the game with 13 lead changes and six ties in the first quarter. In the closing minutes of the first, the Energy were able to open up a six point lead to hold a 36-30 advantage heading into the second. The Energy extended their lead to 16 points in the second quarter behind 15 first half points from Ennis. The Energy led 68-54 at halftime.
Reno started out the second half hot, quickly erasing the Energy's 14-point halftime lead. The Bighorns continued to shoot the ball well and briefly opened up a seven-point lead. Reno outscored the Energy 40-24 in the third to lead 94-92 heading into the fourth. The Bighorns continued shooting the ball well in the fourth to pull away from the Energy to win 127-111.
The Energy are home Saturday, Dec. 26 and Monday, Dec. 28 for two games against the Maine Red Claws.
