
Iowa Energy Fall to Erie BayHawks 114-108

Erie, PA. - The Iowa Energy (4-2) fell 114-108 to the Erie BayHawks (2-3) Thursday night at the Erie Insurance Arena.
The Energy were led by Lazeric Jones with a game-high 27 points, two rebounds and four assists. Joel Wright added a double-double with 25 points and 14 rebounds while Terrence Oglesby added 22 points.
It was a close start to begin the first quarter with two quick lead changes. Erie would then open up a brief 10-point lead mid-way through the first before Iowa was able to close the gap to just four points. A couple of quick baskets by Erie opened the lead back up to 10 at the end of the first as they held a 34-24 advantage. The Energy were once again able to close the gap back to four early in the second quarter. Erie would continue to hold the lead for the rest of the first half to lead 57-51 at halftime. Lazeric Jones led the Energy with 16 first half points.
Erie would open their lead up to 19 points halfway through the third quarter. The Energy immediately responded with an 11-0 run to close the gap down to eight points. The Energy were able to get the lead down to four at the end of the third with two three-pointers each from Oglesby and Terry Whisnant. Iowa trailed 85-81 heading into the fourth. The Energy took the lead for the first time since the first quarter less than two minutes into the fourth. It would be a close game down to the finish with seven lead changes. Erie pulled ahead in the final minutes and were able to hold off a late Energy push in the closing seconds to win 114-108.
The Energy travel to Canton on Dec. 5 for the final game of a three-game road trip before returning home Wed., Dec. 9 at 7pm.
