Bighorn's Holiday Game to Benefit Children's Hospital and Local Food Bank

RENO, NV - The Reno Bighorns will kick-off their Season of Giving with a canned food drive to benefit the St. Paul's Community Food Pantry as well as a Holiday Giving Tree for the patients at Renown Children's Hospital when they host the Rio Grande Valley Vipers Wednesday, Dec. 9 at the Reno Events Center at 7 p.m.

The Bighorns are teaming up with St. Paul's Community Food Pantry for a canned food drive to benefit those who are in need, in the greater Reno/Sparks area this holiday season. The drive will take place during the Bighorns Wednesday, Dec. 9 contest at 7 p.m. Fans who make a nonperishable food donation will receive a free ticket to the night's game.

Collection will start when doors open at the Reno Events Center one hour prior to tip-off, and will conclude the 4th quarter. Fans can bring any can of nonperishable food to the Events Center entrance, where they will be given a game ticket.

The Bighorns will also be joining forces with Renown Children's Hospital, as well as Alice 96.5 to set up a Holiday Giving Tree during the Wednesday contest. The Bighorns and their fans will be providing children in need of a holiday boost with gifts.

The tree will have a wish list item printed on it from a child spending their holiday in the Children's Hospital. Bighorns fans will have the opportunity to purchase the gift for the child.

Bighorns players will deliver the gifts to the hospital in mid-December.
