Iowa tied the game late in the second period at 17:36, as Zack Mitchell set up Zac Dalpe. Mitchell carried the puck through center and slipped a pass to Dalpe, who blasted a slapshot past goalie Connor Hellebuyck for the 1-1 score. The goal was Iowa's first of the preseason and sent the teams to the locker room tied.
The Wild moved in front 2-1 with a shorthanded goal at 12:59 of the third. Forward Brady Brassart blocked a Moose shot and sent Dalpe charging through center ice. The winger potted a wrist shot high on the glove side for his second goal of the game and Iowa's first lead of the night.
