Heat Sign NHL Veteran Orr, Trim Camp Roster

Stockton, Calif. - The Stockton Heat, proudly owned by the NHL's Calgary Flames, sign veteran NHL forward Colton Orr to a AHL contract. In addition the Heat have released forwards Rob Bordson, Dana Fraser, Garret Thompson, Kyle Flanagan and defenseman Ryan Constant, Taylor Doherty and Mike Bergin from their professional tryouts. The team has also assigned Louick Marcotte to the Adirondack Thunder of the ECHL.

Orr, 33, played parts of 12 seasons in the National Hockey League with the Boston Bruins, New York Rangers and most recently the Toronto Maple Leafs. Since turning pro in 2002-03, Orr has accumulated 477 games of NHL experience and 166 games in the AHL. Last season, Orr played for both the Toronto Maple Leafs of the NHL and the organization's AHL affiliate, the Toronto Marlies.
