Iowa announces training camp dates

DES MOINES, IA - Iowa Stars President John Pettit and Stars Director of Hockey Operations Scott White today announced that the club will officially begin their American Hockey League (AHL) training camp on Sunday, September 24th at Wells Fargo Arena in Des Moines, Iowa, marking the start of the Stars sophomore season in the AHL.
The Iowa Stars camp roster will be announced in the coming days, but should consist of approximately 35 to 40 contracted and tryout players. The Wells Fargo Arena-based camp will run from September 24th to October 1st, consisting of on-ice workouts and four exhibition games.
On Sunday, September 24th, the Iowa Stars have scheduled a Pick-A-Seat event beginning at 3 PM. Fans can also relax and enjoy the first on-ice practice of Iowa Stars Training Camp beginning at 5:30 PM. The event is FREE and open to the public. In addition to a special sale on selected merchandise, the Stars will also be showing a copy of their Hockey 101 video. The event will also run from 4:45 to 7 PM on Monday, September 25th.
The Stars will host two exhibition games during training camp. On Friday, September 29th the Stars will welcome the Peoria Rivermen to Wells Fargo Arena for a 7:05 PM game. On Sunday, October 1st the Omaha Ak-Sar-Ben Knights will visit Iowa. Wells Fargo Arena face-off is 5:05 PM.

IOWA STARS INFO: The Stars Opening Night is scheduled for Thursday, October 12th against Houston. Wells Fargo Arena game time is 7:05 PM. Season ticket packages are on sale now at the Stars office, located at 833 5th Avenue in Downtown Des Moines. Full season packages begin at only $336, with 12-game mini-plans as low as $168.
