Intimidators Snap Losing Streak With 7-2 Win Over Sand Gnats

Kannapolis, NC - The Intimidators (15-15) snapped a seven-game losing streak by beating Savannah (14-17) 7-2 at Fieldcrest Cannon Stadium. Kannapolis never trailed in the victory.

Intimidators' starter Levi Maxwell picked up the win (10-3) with six innings giving up two runs on seven hits. Maxwell struck out seven and walked none. The West Virginia product ties for the South Atlantic League lead with 10 wins (tied with two others).

The scoring started with a Mark Fleisher solo home run (his 10th) in the second inning for Kannapolis. In the fifth, the Intimidators added to their lead with a RBI single from Nick Mahin to score Christian Marrero and a RBI single from Sergio Morales to bring in Mahin.

After the Sand Gnats plated two in the sixth inning, the I?s fought back as Jim Gallagher drove in Brent Morel with a double. Kannapolis would add three insurance runs in the eighth frame to put it out of reach.
