Intimidators Run Win Streak To Three With 8-2 Victory In Rome

Rome, GA - The Intimidators (14-8) won their third straight game with a 8-2 decision in favor of Kannapolis over Rome at State Mutual Stadium. The Intimidators are 3-2 on their current seven-game roadtrip.

The Intimidators started the scoring in the third inning when Sergio Miranda blasted his first home run of the season off the scoreboard in left centerfield.

The score stay tied into the sixth when the Intimidators score a run on a RBI triple from Jim Gallagher and another run in the seventh when Nick Mahin scored on an error.

Ahead 3-2 going into the eighth inning, the first seven batters reached for Kannapolis leading to a five inning in which Rome used three relievers.

Starting pitcher Jason Rice (6-5) earned his fifth win in seven starts with five shutout innings giving up only three hits.

Miranda went 2-for-4 with his first home run of the year. Christian Marrero had three hits including a triple while scoring a run.

The Intimidators continue the series in Rome with game three of four starting tomorrow at 2:00pm. Coverage starts at intimidatorsbaseball.com with Dan Bumpus at 1:45pm. The Intimidators are in the midst of a seven-game roadtrip and 3-2 thus far against Columbus and Rome.
