
Intimidators Drop Series Opener In Delmarva 7-1

Salisbury, MD - The Intimidators (16-19) fell in the series opener in Delmarva 7-1 to the Shorebirds (21-17) at Arthur W. Perdue Stadium.
The Intimidators lone run came in the seventh inning. In that frame Jim Gallagher led off with a triple. Two batters later Brent Morel drove in Gallagher on a sacrifice fly.
For the Shorebirds starter Sean Gleason (8-1) surrendered only three hits and one run over seven innings.
Delmarva scored five of their seven runs in the second inning off Intimidators starter Levi Maxwell (10-4). Maxwell gave up a solo home run to Tyler Henson and later in the inning allowed a grand slam off the bat of Ryan Adams. Maxwell set a personal season-high with 10 strikeouts, but walked a season-worst four batters.
Kannapolis has lost four in a row.
The Intimidators are in the midst of an eight-game roadtrip. Kannapolis opens a four-game set in Delmarva starting tonight.
