Intimidators Drop GreenJackets 3-1 To Even Series

Kannapolis, NC - The Intimidators (30-26) broke back into the win column after back to back losses with a 3-1 win over the Augusta GreenJackets (39-19) in the second game of the four-game set at Fieldcrest Cannon Stadium.

Kannapolis moved in front in the 6th inning to break a 1-1 tie with a Mark Fleisher two-out RBI single to plate Gordon Beckham. The Intimidators added an insurance run in the 7th when new Intimidators Jordan Danks brought in John Curtis to take a 3-1 edge.

The I?s scored their first run in the 4th frame thanks to Jim Gallagher driving in Beckham to tie the score at one.

Intimidators starter Miguel Socolovich (6-6) earned the win with six strong innings. Socolovich allowed a run in the 1st frame and settled in not allowing another. The righty lasted six innings giving up just four hits and one run while striking out a season-high nine.

The Intimidators' continue the final homestand of the season tomorrow night against the first-place Augusta GreenJackets.
