Greensboro, NC - The Greensboro Grasshoppers (62-67, 24-35) scored a pair of runs in three separate innings, and used four different pitchers to defeat the Drive (65-63, 25-33) 6-1 Wednesday at NewBridge Bank Park.

Jose Ceballos did the most damage for the 'Hoppers, beginning his 3-for-4 afternoon with a two-run homer in the bottom of the second off Brock Huntzinger (1-2). Greensboro extended their lead in the fourth as Matt Dominquez belted a solo shot off the right-hander, and Ceballos added an RBI-double.

Meanwhile, Stu Alexander (11-8) along with relievers Mike Voss and Peter Andrelczyk held the Drive offense scoreless through the game's first seven innings.

The Drive pushed across their lone run of the game in the eighth as Carlos Fernandez, the only Greenville batter to record multiple hits, doubled home Zach Penprase.

After Mike Rozier held the Grasshopper scoreless for 1.2 innings in relief, Greensboro added a pair of insurance runs - one of which was unearned - off Kyle Foster in the eighth. Ceballos tallied his fourth run batted in, following Thomas Hickman's double with an RBI-single. A Michael Almanzar throwing error extended the inning, allowing Osvaldo Martinez to deliver an RBI-single.

David Mailman may have waited until his last at bat on Tuesday to extend his hit streak, but he made it a little less dramatic on Wednesday. The 19-year-old doubled in his first at bat, pushing his season-high streak to 14 games.

The Drive and Grasshoppers continue their four-game series Thursday evening with first pitch set for 7:05 PM. Lefty Jose Alvarez will toe the rubber for Greenville as Greensboro counters with right-hander Brett Durand.

The Drive return home to Fluor Field on August 23rd for a three-game set with the Augusta GreenJackets, the final home stand of the 2008 season.
