Inter Miami CF is set for to achieve another milestone for the Club, as the team will get its 2024 Concacaf Champions Cup campaign underway this Thursday, March 2 on the road against Nashville SC to start off Inter Miami's first-ever appearance in the regional competition. Kick off at GEODIS Park is set for 9 p.m. ET.

MLS Team of the Matchday Honors for 'Tata', Messi, Suárez and Gressel

Inter Miami head coach Gerardo 'Tata' Martino, captain Lionel Messi, forward Luis Suárez, and midfielder Julian Gressel were named to the Team of the Matchday for Matchday 3 of the MLS 2024 regular season. The tactician and the trio of players earned Team of the Matchday honors following Inter Miami's emphatic 5-0 win at home against cross-state rivals Orlando City SC this past Saturday.

Player of the Matchday Honors for Suárez

Additionally, striker Suárez was voted MLS Player of the Matchday for Matchday 3 of the 2024 MLS regular season. The Uruguayan goalscorer became the first Inter Miami player to be voted Player of the Matchday this 2024 regular season after an impressive 67' minute performance saw him net his first goals of the season and add two more assists to round out three on the season thus far, while in the process becoming the first player in Club history to log multiple goals and assists in a single match and helping the team extend its unbeaten run to three.

Inter Miami in 2024 Concacaf Champions Cup

Inter Miami will be participating in the Concacaf Champions Cup for the first time in Club history. To explain it in simple terms, the tournament is the Concacaf version of the Conmebol Libertadores and the UEFA Champions League. So yes, it's a big deal. Inter Miami clinched a berth in the competition by winning the Leagues Cup in 2023, advancing directly to the Round of 16.

Now, Inter Miami will take on Nashville SC in a two-leg series, with the winner advancing to the Quarterfinals of the competition.

First Matchup Against Nashville in 2024

Inter Miami will open the team's participation in the Concacaf Champions Cup in search of carrying on with its current positive record against Nashville. The team is unbeaten in the past three matches against Tennessee-based side, earning a 2-1 in the Round of 16 of the U.S. Open Cup last May, winning the 2023 Leagues Cup title in exciting fashion by winning a penalty shootout in the final at GEODIS Park in August, and most recently playing out a hard fought goalless draw on the road in MLS regular season also in August.

Scouting Nashville SC

Nashville will enter the matchup the after collecting two points from two draws in the team's opening 2024 MLS regular season fixtures. In the team's last matchup, they drew 1-1 on the road against the Colorado Rapids on Saturday, March 2.

Nashville will host Inter Miami after knocking out Dominican side Moca FC in the First Round of the Concacaf Champions Cup with an aggregate score of 7-0.
